Official position of the Portuguese government on fisheries transparency
Dear Permanent Representation of Portugal to the EU,
Under Portugal’s Law 26/2016 (Lei nº 26/2016 de 22 de agosto aprova o regime de acesso à informação administrativa e ambiental e de reutilização dos documentos administrativos), I kindly request access to any document in your possession on the position of the Portuguese government on the amendments proposed by the European Parliament on 10 March 2021 on the EU fisheries control Regulation.
I am specifically interested in the amendments to articles 93 and 113 to of Regulation (EC) No 1224/2009 - the EU Fisheries Control Regulation, which are currently being discussed in trilogue negotiations between the European Parliament, Council and Commission.
I am requesting documents, including emails and meeting minutes, that include information on the position of the Portuguese government on the above.
Given that the trilogue discussions are ongoing, I would appreciate a speedy response to my request.
I remain at your disposal should you need further information.
Yours faithfully,
Martina Tombini

Dear Martina,
Thank you for reaching out.
Allow me to inform you that, in case you are referring to internal
documents of the Portuguese authorities competent for Fisheries, the
request for access to those documents should be addressed to them.
Otherwise, if you are referring to documents handled by the EU
institutions as part of their decision- or law-making process, the request
for access should be made directly to the institution concerned, such as
the Council.
I hope that I have been helpful.
Kind regards,
Pedro RODRIGUES-DUARTE
