Outcomes for ERC applications on resubmission

The request was successful.

Iesel Van der Plancken

Dear European Research Council Executive Agency,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Following up on your very informative answer on https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/outc... by Gesche Huebner, I'd like to know 1) in addition the same statistics for applicants receiving a B in the second round, and 2) the combined information for ERC-CoG and ERC-AdG (if available or compilable).

So, overall I'd be happy to receive documents containing the following numbers for ERC-StG, ERC-CoG, and ERC-AdG separately (call years 2013-2017):

For the applicants receiving a score A in the second step and resubmitted the next year (either in the same category or in one of the other categories):
• The number of those proposals that were finally funded
• The number of those proposals that received a A score at Step 2 of the evaluation, but didn't get funded
• The number of those proposals that received a B score at Step 2 of the evaluation
• The number of those proposals that received a B score at Step 1 of the evaluation
• The number of those proposals that received a C score at Step 1 of the evaluation

For the applicants receiving a score B in the second step and resubmitted the next year (either in the same category or in one of the other categories):
• The number of those proposals that were finally funded
• The number of those proposals that received a A score at Step 2 of the evaluation, but didn't get funded
• The number of those proposals that received a B score at Step 2 of the evaluation
• The number of those proposals that received a B score at Step 1 of the evaluation
• The number of those proposals that received a C score at Step 1 of the evaluation

Thank you very much.
Yours faithfully,

Iesel Van der Plancken

Dear Ms Van der Plancken,

We refer to you email of 3/6/19 in which you are requesting certain
documents and referring to Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 of the European
Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2001 regarding public access to
European Parliament, Council and Commission documents (Regulation
1049/2001).

We would like to take the opportunity to clarify the nature of your
request. It appears that you are requesting access to documents that
contain specific aggregated statistical information. Please note that
Regulation 1049/2001 applies only to requests for access to existing
documents, i.e. “any content whatever its medium (written on paper or
stored in electronic form or as a sound, visual or audio-visual recording)
concerning a matter relating to the policies, activities and decisions
falling within the institution's sphere of responsibility” (Article 3 of
Regulation 1049/2001). If the request relates to information which is not
contained in documents, and if replying would involve compiling
information from a number of different documents, it should be considered
as a request for information to be processed in accordance with the Code
of Good Administrative Behaviour.

We have conducted a search in our files and concluded that the information
you request is not readily available in a document but needs to be
compiled from several sources.

Following the above, we will treat your request as access to information
in compliance with the Code of Good Administrative Behaviour. You shall
receive a reply from the ERCEA within 15 working days (by 25/6/2019).

We remain at your disposal if you need further clarification.

Yours sincerely,
