Dear Mr Teffer,

Thank you for your email dated 5 November 2018. We hereby acknowledge receipt of your application for access to documents, which was registered today (12 November 2018) under reference number GestDem 2018/5926.

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council and Commission documents, your application will be handled within 15 working days.
The time limit will expire on 3 December 2018. In case this time limit needs to be extended, you will be informed in due course.

You have lodged your application via the AsktheEU.org website. Please note that this is a private third-party website which has no link with any institution of the European Union. Therefore, the European Commission cannot be held accountable for any technical issues or problems linked to the use of this system.

Please note that the private third party running the AsktheEU.org website is responsible and accountable for the processing of your personal data via that website, and not the European Commission. For further information on your rights, please refer to the third party’s privacy policy.

If you do not wish your correspondence with the European Commission to be published on the AsktheEU.org website, you can provide us with an alternative, private e-mail address for further correspondence. In that case, the European Commission will send all future electronic correspondence addressed to you only to that private address.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Madam, Sir,

Thank you for your message of having registered my access to documents request under reference number GestDem 2018/5926. However, I find it unacceptable that the email I sent on 5 November has only been registered on 12 November - a full working week later. This has consequences for the 15 working days response time, and I do not think it is fair to start counting from the moment of registration when that moment is already 5 working days after submission. I would appreciate it if DG AGRI would commit to a response deadline of 15 working days counting from 5 November.

All the best,
Peter Teffer

Dear Mr Teffer,

Thank you for your message regarding the registration of your request for access to documents on the application of Regulation (EU) 2016/1012 of 8 June 2016 on zootechnical and genealogical conditions for the breeding, trade in and entry into the Union of purebred breeding animals, hybrid breeding pigs and the germinal products thereof.

The delay in registering your request is due to the fact that your request had to be reassigned to a different DG.

Your request had initially been sent to DG AGRI. However, Regulation (EU) 2016/1012 does not fall under the remit of DG AGRI. It was then decided to reassign your request to the competent DG (in this case DG SANTE), which explains the delay.

It was DG SANTE that registered your request and sent you the acknowledgement of receipt on 12 November 2018.

Kind regards,
