Dear Sir,

We refer to your e-mail dated 12/04/2016 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 14/04/2016 under the above mentioned
reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expires on 10/05/2016.

An extended time limit is needed as your application concerns documents
held by different Services which must be consulted.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 02/06/2016.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Yours faithfully,

Eirini Nikolaidou

Dear Internal Audit Service,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Internal Audit Service's handling of my FOI request 'Register of assets'.

The response is overdue and I should appreciate an update on the process of generating a response.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: http://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/regis...

Many thanks,

Lee Rotherham

 Dear Lee Rotherham,

Thank you for your interest in our activities.

The Commission and other EU entities maintain computerised listings of
their assets. These are kept in the format required for accounting,
internal control and asset management purposes. This format is not always
the same as the National Asset Register referred to. In this sense, we
cannot provide you with a specific document containing all the requested
information.

The requested information about all European Union assets is currently
held by a variety of European Union institutions, agencies and bodies
(52), in a variety of systems. The compilation of such information, in the
format you request, would therefore take a considerable amount of time.

We would therefore like to ask you if you are willing to narrow down your
request to the Commission assets (60% of the European Union assets)
which we can provide you within 15 working days from the date of your
agreement.

If that is not possible and if you maintain your request for information
on all the assets of the EU institutions, we propose to handle your
application in successive stages by collecting and consolidating the
information from all concerned entities. This will unfortunately take
significantly longer than 15 days.

Yours sincerely,

Eirini Nikolaidou

Information and Communication Officer
