Dear Mr Bizarri,

Subject: Your application for access to documents – Ref GestDem No 2013/4752

We refer to your e-mail dated 16/9/2013 in which you make a request for access to documents, registered on 18/9/2013 under the above mentioned reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a position to complete the handling of your application within the time limit of 15 working days, which expires tomorrow on 9/10/2013.

An extended time limit is needed as your application which is being handled requires researching & verification across a large number of files.

Therefore, we must extend the time limit by 15 working days in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 30/10/2013.
We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Dear Internal Market and Services (MARKT),

thank you for your reply.
I am aware of your right to request more time under the abovementioned regulation.

I happen to know however, through contacts with DG MRKT, that some of the officials have already retrieved the information in their possession, whilst others are in the process of collating it.

I would like to ask you therefore to release the information that has already been retrieved and to continue to release it as it becomes available - rather than waiting for next deadline to release it in bulk (I understand this to have become standard practice within the Commission's handling of FoIs).

Yours faithfully,

Kim Bizzarri
