Request for Privacy Shield Records

The request was partially successful.

Dear European Ombudsman,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

I request all reports, correspondence, and memorandum on the Privacy Shield framework. I would like to you search for records from October 1, 2015 to the present.

I request to be provided these records free of charge, because it is in the public interest to release these records. If any part of this request is denied, I request to be informed of the decision and the reason why.

Thank you,

Rachael Tackett

Dear European Ombudsman,

Please confirm that you have received my request for documents and that my request has been registered (including the date it was registered).

Thank you,

Rachael Tackett

Dear Euro-Ombudsman,

Please notify me of the status of my request. It is past the 15 working day time limit for the EU Ombudsman to respond to my request for public documents.

See the full request here https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/requ...

Yours sincerely,

Rachael Tackett

Dear European Ombudsman,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Request for Privacy Shield Records'.

The European Ombudsman is illegally denying me access to public documents. The European Ombudsman registered my request on February 20, 2017. The European Ombudsman responded on February 22, 2017 that my request had been registered and that the office would respond to my request in 15 working days. The 15 working day deadline passed, and I have still not received a response from the European Ombudsman. On March 22, 2017, I sent a follow-up message to the European Ombudsman notifying the office that the 15 working day deadline had passed, and asking for information on the status of my request. It is now March 27, 2017, and I have still not received a response from the European Ombudsman. The European Ombudsman has also failed to inform me of my rights to file a confirmatory application and my rights to adequate remedy. In summary, the European Ombudsman has failed to follow the 15 working day deadline and has failed in its legal duties to grant me access to public documents.

I request that the European Ombudsman immediately send me the public records on 'Privacy Shield", for which the request was registered on February 20, 2017.

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/requ...

Yours faithfully,

Rachael Tackett
