Template responses for access to documents requests

The request was successful.

Mathias Schindler

Dear Legal Service,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

The European Commission is using a set of standard responses and standard phrases for handling and responding to access to documents requests. I am requesting all documents related to standard phrases related to requests made in connection with Regulation 1049/2001.

This includes standard responses

* that a request has been registered or that a request has not been registered.
* concerning wide-scope requests
* concerning "fair solutions"
* "holding replies"
* third party consultations.

for both initial as well as confirmatory applications.

I believe that the Commission maintains a database, repository, file or folder containing all of these standard responses, in multiple languages. I am requesting a copy of this.

Yours faithfully,

Mathias Schindler

Dear Legal Service,
Dear Gitte Louise Olsen,

there is no legal requirement for the Commission to ask for a postal address.

I refer you to the Ombudsman Decision in case 682/2014/JF: https://www.ombudsman.europa.eu/cases/de...

"The Commission’s requirement that all persons who ask for public access to documents must provide their postal address for its paper post sending arrangements, is maladministration."

To make matters worse: The European Commission already has my address.

Yours faithfully,

Mathias Schindler
