Dear DG JRC,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
A list of all lobby meetings held by the commissioner in charge of Joint Research Centre, Tibor Navracsics, or any other member of its Cabinet with any organisations representing churches and/or religious communities since 2014 onwards, including all emails, minutes, reports or any other briefing papers related to all those meetings.
Yours faithfully,
Álvaro Merino
Calle Ricardo Ortiz 61 , 1B.
28017 Madrid.
Dear Sir / Madam,
Thank you for your e-mail dated 17 March 2019. We hereby acknowledge
receipt of your application for access to documents, which was registered
on 19 March 2019 under reference number GestDem 2019/1659.
In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to
European Parliament, Council and Commission documents, your application
will be handled within 15 working days. The time limit will expire on 9
April 2019. In case this time limit needs to be extended, you will be
informed in due course.
You have lodged your application via the AsktheEU.org website. Please note
that this is a private third-party website which has no link with any

Dear Sir / Madam,
Subject: Your application for access to documents – Ref GestDem No
2019/1659
We refer to your e-mail dated 17 March 2019 in which you make a request
for access to documents, registered on 19 March 2019 under the above
mentioned reference number.
Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expires on 9 April 2019.
An extended time limit is needed as your broadly worded application does
not allow for a swift identification/retrieval of the requested documents,
if any.
Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 06/05/2019.
We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.
Yours faithfully,
JRC Access Documents

Dear Mr Merino,
In your request below you refer to Mr Navracsics as Commissioner for the JRC. As you may know Mr Navracsics is also Commissioner for DG Education and Culture (DG EAC). In his quality as Commissioner for the JRC he did not have any contacts with churches or religious communities but as Commissioner for DG EAC he did have such contacts.
Could you clarify whether in fact you mean to address your request to him in his quality as Commissioner for Education and Culture?
Please consider this request as a clarification request under Article 6, second paragraph, of Regulation 1049/2001.
Yours sincerely

Dear Mr Merino,
Your request registered under Gestdem reference 2019/1574 sent to DG EAC
and the one registered under Gestdem reference 2019/1659 sent to JRC
target the same documents (list of all lobby meetings held by Commissioner
Tibor Navracsics or any other member of its Cabinet with any organisations
representing churches and/or religious communities since 2014 onwards,
including all emails, minutes, reports or any other briefing papers
related to all those meetings) and are as such identical requests.
We will therefore close Gestdem reference 2019/1659. DG EAC will send you
a reply under Gestdem reference 2019/1574 for above mentioned requested
documents.
Yours sincerely,
