Unemployment amongst Erasmus graduates

Education, Youth, Sport and Culture did not have the information requested.

Dear Education and Culture (EAC),

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

A recent Eurostat release (1 July 2014) shows that there were 5.2 million EU youths (under 25s) unemployed in May 2014.

I would like to request any documents that highlight how many EU citizen graduates under the age of 25 who had a year abroad under the Erasmus programme are currently unemployed.

Dear Mr Stanley,

In response to your query we would like to inform you that the European
Commission only collects data related to the mobility periods of Erasmus
students. It is not within the Commission's remit to collect data on the
later employment status of Erasmus students.

While the impact of Erasmus mobility on the later career of students has
been the subject of several studies, these are based on surveys of various
scales, in which Erasmus alumni have been involved on a voluntary basis.

We are pleased to inform you in this context that a new study on the
impact of the Erasmus programme on employability skills will be published
on 22 September and you will be able to find it on our Erasmus+ website
([1]http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-p...)

We hope that you will find this publication useful for your activities.

Kind regards,

Vanessa Debiais-Sainton
