Vessels seized and destroyed under Operation Sophia/EUNAVFOR Med

European External Action Service did not have the information requested.

Dear European External Action Service,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Names and identifying information (MMSI, IMO, call sign, flag) of individual smuggling vessels seized, destroyed, or turned back in the Mediterranean under Operation Sophia/EUNAVFOR Med, along with location, date, and time of seizure. If possible, it would also be helpful to have information about the asset that intercepted the vessel, and information about the number of migrants on board.

Yours faithfully,
Katherine
