Dear Commissioner Breton,
I would like to thank you once again for our good exchange on 10 March
2021. It was my pleasure to learn more about your views and ideas to
strengthen our European economy and to move Europe forward.
As discussed, we consider space as a key to future technologies such as
autonomous driving, Internet of Things (IoT) and big data applications. It
is therefore essential for Europe’s digital and green future.
We firmly believe that we need to break new ground in European space
policy in order to remain internationally competitive. Europe has great
large system integrators (LSI), small and medium-sized enterprises
(SME) and dynamic NewSpace start-ups. To be globally successful, we
need the expertise and passion of all of them equally. By acting as a solid
and early anchor customer, the European Union could maximize these
strengths further and attract additional private capital into our space
ecosystem. Regardless of their size, all companies should get fair, equal
and direct access to all European space programmes. More intra-
European competition is part of the solution to be globally successful.
