Subject: Acknowledgment of receipt and reply to request for access to documents.
Dear Mr Muneeb Hassan,
We hereby acknowledge receipt of your request of 14 March 2023 with subject access to documents request
- Urgent little provision of information on British International A level exams and Syllabi.
Your request was registered under reference number 02-2023.
In your application, you request access to documents containing the following information:
‘I would love to know if, a student, after studying privately or by online classes gives the British International A
level exams through a state approved board is considered to have completed the High school studies or not
and if he/she needs some type of Hague apostille to be able to apply to British and international universities.
Moreover, are British International A level result certificates eligible for the Hague apostille?
Lastly, what are the consequences of some state university rejecting A British A level certificate with Hague
apostille!’
We would first like to inform you that the EIT is an independent EU body. Its main role is increasing European
sustainable growth and creating jobs by reinforcing Europe’s innovation capacity. The EIT brings together
leading organisations from business, education and research, the so-called ‘knowledge triangle', to form
dynamic cross-border partnerships – Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).
In this regard, it should be noted that the subject matter of your request does not fall under the remit of the
EIT Regulation. Furthermore, we would also like to inform you that the scope of Regulation 1049/2001
regarding public access to documents, as defined in its Article 2(3), extends only to documents held by an
institution.
Therefore, considering that the information you are requesting would not fall under the scope of the activities
performed by the EIT, the EIT is neither in a position to provide the requested information nor it holds any
documents that may contain such information. Based on the above, we cannot provide any further assistance
on this matter. Therefore, you are kindly advised to submit your request to the relevant competent authorities.
Please note that in accordance with Article 7(2) of Regulation No 1049/2001, you are entitled to make a
confirmatory application requesting the EIT to review this position. Such a confirmatory application should be
addressed, within 15 working days upon receipt of this response, by post or electronically to the Head of
