Re:
Fair solution for an extension of the deadline to reply to your request for
public access to documents submitted on 27 July 2017

Our ref.: PAD 2017/066

Dear Mr Harmsen,

Further to our letter of 28 July 2017, by means of which we acknowledged the receipt of
your  request  for  public  access  to  documents  registered  as  PAD  2017/066,  please  be
assured that  your request is being processed  as quickly as possible in accordance with
the  provisions  of  Regulation  (EC)  No  1049/2001  on  public  access  to  documents1
(hereinafter “the PAD Regulation”).

However, we regret to inform you that EFSA will require more time for processing your
request, including the completion of  consultations with third parties in accordance  with
Article 4(4) and Article 4(5) of the PAD Regulation. The current  holiday period impacts
on the progress and coordination of our follow-up work.

For  this  reason,  we  would like  to  confer  with  you  to  find  a  fair  solution,  in  accordance
with Article 6(3) of the PAD Regulation. We estimate to be in the position to provide you
with a reply by 27 September 2017. We hope this is agreeable to you. Please accept
our apologies for any inconveniences caused by this delay.

Yours sincerely,

[Signed]

Dirk Detken
