Report meeting KAS - 11 May 2017 
On Thursday 11 May I met, upon their request with4.1(b)
 of the 
Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). 
4.1(b)
 has been recently appointed
4.1(b)
 KAS based in Singapore, and4.1(b)
 will take up this function in the coming 
weeks. (4.1(b)
 works at the Brussels office).  
The KAS regional office in Singapore comprises three regional programmes that focus on political 
dialogue, media development and the rule of law respectively. The Regional Programme Political 
Dialogue Asia and the Pacific aims to contribute to the strengthening of regional integration, global 
governance, democratic processes, and international dialogue among Asian countries as well as between 
Europe, Asia and Australia. The visit followed up on an earlier meeting back in February with4.1(b)
 who is also working on the same regional programme in Singapore. 
I gave an overall overview of the EU's trade policy agenda in ASEAN and the region.4.1(b)
 was also 
interested in next steps for the Singapore FTA. 
I recommended4.1(b)
 to also establish contact with our trade section in Singapore.
