Thank you for your message which reflects our discussions in the recent SC2 Programme Committee
Institutionally the Commission will inform the Member States as you have requested as soon as the text is
institutionally ready. With
we will ensure transparent communication with the BBI
I will ask
and her team to clarify when and how we can ensure that you are all well informed
at the earliest possible opportunity.
(As the flu is affecting a lot of colleagues this week it may be a few days before we have a precise response.)
On 24 Jan 2017, at 11:23,
, dear John,
I do hope that this email finds both of you well.
I am writing to you regarding the amendment of the Council Regulation for BBI. We were
briefly h informed last week during the SC2 PCM on the procedure and, as Spanish
Representative, I took the floor to share my views on potential difficulties that may be
found during the procedure if Member States are not up to date about it.
My feeling is that most SRG members will be asked nationally to inform on that issue (BBI
performance, state of play, reasons for the amendment, consequences,…). I think that the
better the SRG members (and PC colleagues too) are informed about it, the better we can
brief nationally at our representatives in the research working party, MPs,…, and therefore
the smoother the procedure may be.
Please consider this email only as a suggestion that I believe could contribute to the
successful implementation of BBI.
With my best wishes,
