Dear Mrs Melngaile,

I hope this e-mail finds you well. I am contacting you on behalf of the Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich)
to explore the possibility of having a meeting with the European Commission Vice-President Mr Valdis
Dombrovskis.
 and

will be in Brussels on the 11th and 12th of April 2018, and
would be grateful for the opportunity to meet the Vice-President to:

  Express their support for the Commission’s strategy on Sustainable Finance
  Share insights on Zurich’s approach to ESG integration into investment strategies
  Discuss the upcoming challenges to the domains of InsurTech and Cyber Security

Zurich has taken a leading role on sustainability and is very supportive of the European Commission’s
ambitious agenda on sustainable finance. Further to its efforts of consistently integrating ESG factors
into its investment strategies, it has started concrete initiatives like the Flood Resilience Programme,
which is investing in pre-event risk reduction & resilience measures. Additionally, it has made the
identification of ESG risks one of its priorities. On the latter, Zurich is cooperating with the World
Economic Forum on “The Global Risks Report”.

Seperately, Zurich is highly interested in discussing FinTech and digital issues, how it impacts and is
transforming Zurich and how to deal with the cybersecurity challenges for large financial
institutions.On that front,
would love to share is practical experiences and
insights.

I would be very grateful if you could indicate whether either of the dates is compatible with Vice-
President’s busy agenda. We are happy to provide any additional information that you may consider
necessary. Many thanks for your time and consideration.

Kind regards,
