Taskforce Fining Meeting
15 November 2018, Rue Montoyer 30, Ground Floor
Welcome + adoption of the agenda
Approval of the Agenda
The draft agenda was approved.
NO gave an overview of what had been discussed so far about a potential case register on fining
decisions. The members of the subgroup want the case register particularly to allow SAs to find
similar cases, which will enable SAs to contact the respective SA and exchange views.
The members of the subgroup discussed the fields to be filled in, the content of potential drop down
menus and the need for free text on some aspects. Furthermore, the number of characters in the
free text fields should be restricted.
The members of the subgroup decided to request the EDPB for a mandate to proceed and eventually
set up an online case register, based on the requirements elaborated so far.
prepares an infonote for the December plenary to give a state of play concerning the
case register and to ask for a mandate to proceed on this.
REMARK: After the meeting the coordinators agreed not to follow this approach, as the
Secretariat informed them that no mandate was needed. The case register will become part of
an IT tool already under development. The IT User Subgroup/Secretariat will inform the
members of the subgroup on the next steps.
The members are invited to provide feedback by email to the Secretariat and
concerning the handling of several infringements at the same time under their
respective national legislation
The next meeting will be held on 21 February 2019.
