The idea would be to exchange views on the better regulation agenda. On our side, following the
meeting with the First Vice-President, we are gathering contributions from our members on regulatory
hurdles/improvements they see in their business.

We would very much appreciate if you or another colleague in charge of better regulation could present
the better regulation concept and provide us with some guidelines (+/- 30 minutes), and then to have a
discussion with the participants (+/-30 minutes).

The remit of the Competitiveness Working Group is quite large, covering policy issues related to
innovation, growth, global competition, trade, the single market, and of course regulation. The Working
Group is also finalising a common position on circular economy. Its meetings are usually well attended by
a broad range of companies (see the list of the working group members attached, for your information).

The meeting on 23 June starts at 11:30 and ends at 16:00. You could for example join us for a light lunch
at 12:40, followed by the exchange of views from 13:00 until 14:00.

I hope this invitation will suit your busy agenda.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

Subject: Meeting with the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT) - Follow-up

Dear Mr Colombani,

On behalf of the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT), I wanted to thank again for the meeting
we had with the First Vice-President and you on 30 March.
The open discussion was very much appreciated by our delegation and we feel ERT could bring a positive
contribution to the projects of the new European Commission and Mr Timmermans in particular.
I would like to propose a follow-up call soon with you,
and myself, to review areas of future
collaboration and next steps.
Thank you very much.
