Chemical pesticides reduction target in the forthcoming Farm to Fork Strategy:
o ECPA reminded that it takes time to put a new plant protection product on
the market to replace dangerous products (11 years on average).
o It advocated the possibility of using new breeding techniques to move

of pesticides, in particular through the prism of risk management.
Impact of counterfeit and illegal pesticides:
o Counterfeit and illegal pesticides represent 14% of the EU pesticides
o Lack of harmonisation between EU countries concerning the placing of
plant protection products on the national market.
