Dear Vice President Timmermans,

Thank you very much for your time today and the open discussion around the European Chemical Industry´s
role to facilitate the EU Green Deal.

I very much appreciated the open exchange and your views on how to structure the mega transformation
ahead of us. I think we are united by the view that the EU Commission (several DG’s) and the Chemical industry
have to intensively interact with each other to facilitate, move quickly, prioritize, structure and define
appropriate framework conditions to succeed in achieving our goals.

We feel encouraged to take the first step to bring this all together in a single document for further discussion,
which will evolve into a Sectorial Green Deal for the Chemical Industry. An approach that defines an ambitious
road map for achievements and ensures the industry´s future competitiveness at the same time.  Both to
become climate neutral in 2050 as well as to meet the goals of the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability.

Nevertheless technological challenges at the end have interrupted our dialogue quite brutally I think we have
touched many of the pressing issues. I know
has already been in touch with Helena and Antoine
to follow up and I hope for a continuation between you and the industries CEO’s in reasonable time.

I offer myself and CEFIC as well as other CEOs of our industry as constructive partners in this transformational
endeavor. We are looking forward to meeting you soon again, hopefully next time person by person

Best regards and stay healthy
