Access to microdata for scientific purposes in the context of recent misuse
Dear Eurostat,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001 and in the recent context of alleged scientific research parties using Facebook data for commercial use, I request from you the following:
A list of all receivers for the years 2016 and 2017 of Eurostat microdata that allegedly have received your data for "scientific purposes only" as you describe on your website: http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/microdata.
The list should include the following details:
1) Receiver (names of: legal entities, institutions and individuals receiving the data)
2) Data-Set shared (description of the microdata-set shared by you with the Receiver)
3) Purpose for which the data has been requested (declared scientific purpose)
4) Confirmation (or not) that Eurostat has received research results derived from the data
5) If Eurostat has confirmed deletion of the shared microdata after its use (specify if receivers self-audit or if Eurostat exerts its own auditing)
Yours faithfully,
Paul Graf

Dear Eurostat,
I have already filed a complaint with the Ombudsman concerning your address data requirement.
As you may remember, you already asked me for my address and I didn't comply:
https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/alco...
This information request will not be different and I will handle it in the same way I'm handling the above mentioned one.
In other words, I insist in asking you to provide me with the requested information and I confirm you that I will not provide you with an address.
Yours faithfully,
Paul Graf
Dear Mr Graf,
We refer to your email dated 10/04/2018, copied below.
In response to the question you raised, please be informed that the Commission's latest position regarding the postal address requirement is reflected in our reply to the Ombudsman of 9 March 2017, which can be found on the Ombudsman website (https://www.ombudsman.europa.eu/en/cases...).
The Commission has been asked to provide its reply to the Ombudsman's final conclusions on this topic by the end of the first quarter of 2018, and this reply will also be made available on the Ombudsman's website.
We also refer to our reply to you of 29/12/2017 in which we set out our reasons for requesting a postal address.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,
Carlos Remis
