Breakdown of UK Recipients of Education and Culture EU Projects
Dear Sir/Madam,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
I understand that in recent years, many areas in the UK have received educational funding from the EU. I am writing to request the following information:
1. A full breakdown of the recipients of this funding in the UK, and where they are located.
2. A breakdown of the period over which each of these recipients will be funded.
If possible, I would be grateful if you could provide this information broken down by each of the years of the EU Budget Cycle, up to the end of the current budget cycle - which I understand to be 2019/2020.
In addition, I would also be grateful if you could comment on the future of this funding should the UK formally leave the European Union in, say, 2019 - i.e. before the current budget cycle is closed. Would this mean that current projects earmarked for funding in 2019/2020 would not receive this funding?
Yours faithfully,
Tom Stephens

Dear Mr Stephens,
We refer to your request dated 09/10/2016 in which you make a request for
access to documents concerning the access to documents: Breakdown of UK
Recipients of Education and Culture EU Projects, which we have registered
under the reference number: [5]Ares(2016)5837115 on 09/10/2016.
The instrument to finance the education and culture projects at the EU
level is Erasmus + programme, which runs from 2014- 2020.
We would like to inform you that the programme Erasmus+ is executed in two
ways: centralised (direct funds) by the Commission Services in Brussels
(DG EAC and EACEA: [6]http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus-plus_en ) and
decentralised (indirect funds) via the National Agencies in the
participating countries:
[7]http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-p... The
project duration is 1-3 years on average.
In order to obtain the information concerning projects financed under the
centralised actions you should consult the following website:
[8]http://ec.europa.eu/budget/fts/index_en.... , select the UK on the map
on the home page and in the subject of grant /contract field: 'The Union
Programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sports.'
In order to find projects financed under the decentralised actions please
see the website of the UK National Agency:

I would like to inform you that the European Commission publishes the
annual reports concerning the Erasmus+ programme implementations on its

Following the referendum result in the United Kingdom, we wish to inform
you on the position of the DG Education and Culture regarding its impact
on our programmes which was published on the [14]Erasmus+ website.
According to the Treaties which the United Kingdom has ratified, EU law
continues to apply to the full to and in the United Kingdom until it is no

through the Erasmus+ programme.
