Dear Enterprise and Industry (ENTR),

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which mention or relate to the 'Defence Industries Task Force'.

This should include, as a minimum, the following documents:

- The dates and location of the meetings of the Defence Industries Task Force.

- The official minutes of the meetings of the Defence Industries Task Force.

- The names of people in attendance at the meetings of the Defence Industries Task Force, and the agency or division which they represent.

Yours faithfully,

Chris Venables

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your e-mail dated 14/05/2013.  We hereby acknowledge receipt
of your application for access to documents, which was registered on
14/05/2013 under reference number GestDem 2013/2548.

This is a very broadly formulated request, which would require extensive
searches on different locations. It is not really feasible to retrieve
documents on these criteria.

We therefore invite you, pursuant to Article 6(2) of Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001 regarding public access to documents to narrow down its scope to
cover only the current term in office of the European Commission (starting
in January 2010).

If you need assistance in clarifying or specifying your application, you
can contact us:

•             by email to: [1][DG ENTR request email]

The 15 working days the time limit for handling your application will
start running when we receive the requested clarifications.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Enterprise and Industry (ENTR),

I believe that the request I have made is not "broadly formulated", as you suggest, but is in fact, specific and targeted. It asks for documents which must exist, and asks for information which will most likely be detailed in those documents.

You have suggested I narrow down my search to the era of the latest Commission. The 'Defence Industries Task Force' was only created in 2011. My request was therefore already limited to this era. (See http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/sectors/d...)

I thus re-send my request as above, unchanged.

Yours faithfully,

Chris Venables

Dear Sir,

We refer to your  e-mail dated 14/05/2013 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 14/05/2013 under the above mentioned
reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expires on 05/06/2013.

An extended time limit is needed as some of the requested documents are
held by different Services which have been consulted and we are waiting
for their replies.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 26/06/2013.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Yours faithfully,

Michaela Vavrikova
