Dear Ms. Oliván Avilés,

thank you for your update.

I find it hard to understand that identifying the documents related to only four meetings would take so long to the European Commission - my initial request was introduced on July 5th, two weeks after the documents in question were received by the European Commission. This is more than five months ago.

I have been made aware recently that the European Commission was destroying "several thousand emails and texts" older than 6 months every month.
https://www.spiegel.de/international/eur...

Let me be very clear: making me wait for 6 months to be able to destroy documents and not enabling me to access them would be an unacceptable and probably illegal action. I really hope the documents I have requested will not be destroyed, and that they will be disclosed to me soon as per the rights guaranteed by Regulation 1049/2001.

As previously expressed, I remain at your disposal should you need any information that would enable you to more easily process my request. I look forward to reading your final response.

Yours sincerely,

Martin Pigeon

Dear Ms. Oliván Avilés,

We are now the 14th of December, 15 working days after your last email. I was wondering whether you could let me know of any update regarding the status of the SG's handling of my access to documents request? Is there any particular reason the process is taking so, so much time beyond the legal deadlines recognised by Regulation 1049/2001? Is it become third parties are refusing to respond to your disclosure permission requests, for instance?

Dear SG ACCES DOCUMENTS,

it has now been more than a year since I introduced this request. I accept your apologies, but that is not making the situation progress much. We are really not talking about a large number of documents here. Could it be that the person in charge at DG ENER has forgotten? Fallen asleep? Left for holidays? Resigned? Discovered an overwhelming passion for origami? Received orders from his hierarchy to not respond?

In any case, I would appreciate receiving these documents now.
