Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Thank you for your response. You state that access to document reference Ares(2020)1904165 cannot be granted, pursuant to Article 4(1)(b) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, under Article 9(1)(b) of the Data Protection Regulation, which protects the transmission of personal data.

In terms of those present, my primary interest only concerns the attendance of Vice-President Jourová and UK Information Commissioner Ms Elizabeth Denham. The fact that these two individuals took part in this meeting is already public information.

However, my interest is in the topics discussed in the meeting, and not the specific individuals in attendance. You have not legitimately justified a reason for not disclosing the document, with redactions of the names that you seek to protect in line with EU data protection law.

Therefore, in order to duly meet your compliance with data protection law but also adhering to a principle of transparency, may I ask you to disclose the referenced document, with the names of those present (who you wish to protect) redacted?

Yours faithfully,

Samuel Stolton
