Infringement cases weapons and isotonitazene
Dear Madam, Sir,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
All documents related to the following infringement cases:
- INFR(2021)0315: Non-communication by the Netherlands of national measures for Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2020/1687 on inclusion of isotonitazene in definition of drugs
- INFR(2018)0374: Non-communication of national measures transposing Directive (EU) 2017/853 on control of the acquisition and possession of weapons by the Netherlands.
- INFR(2020)0227: Non-communication of national measures transposing Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2019/69 on alarm and signal weapons by the Netherlands
Since these cases have been closed on 9 February 2022 and 6 April 2022, article 4.2 of Regulation 1049/2001 does not apply here. Even if it were to be argued that it does, there is an overriding public interest, because of the importance of correct and swift transposition of the directives - after all the acts were introduced "to address the misuse of firearms for criminal purposes, and considering recent terrorist acts".
Please note I prefer to receive the documents in digital format, not by physical mail.
Sincerely,
Peter Teffer
