Meeting on endocrine disrupters at DG MARE

Asuntos Marítimos y Pesca no tenía la información solicitada.

Dear Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MARE),

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

– all correspondence (including emails), detailed minutes and any other reports related to the 21 June 2013 meeting with Fabrizia Benini and/or members of her staff and representatives of ECPA and BASF on the topic of endocrine disrupters (also spelled: disruptors).

Should my request be denied wholly or partially, please explain the denial or all deletions referring to specific exemptions in the regulation. Also I expect the partial release of documents, in case of partial exemption according to article 4.6.

Do not hesitate to get back to me should you need any further
information which could facilitate your research.

Thank you for your assistance.
Yours faithfully,

Stéphane Horel

Dear Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MARE),

Thank you for your reply.
Perhaps the date in my request was inaccurate.
I am therefore requesting documents which
contain the following information:

– all correspondence (including emails), detailed minutes and any other reports related to any meeting with Fabrizia Benini and/or members of her staff and representatives of ECPA and BASF in May, June or July 2013

If such documents do not exist, could you please confirm the date(s) of the meeting(s) and who attended it?

Thank you.
Yours faithfully,

Dear Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MARE),

Thank you for your message, which surprises me.
According to an email I obtained from another access-to-document request to DG Enterprise, this meeting did take place.

In an email dated 25 June 2013, an ECPA employee writes:
"Follow-up: Meeting with ECPA and BASF regarding Endocrine Disruptors
Dear Mrs Benini,
Thank you for taking the time to meet with myself and my BASF colleagues last Friday. We appreciated the strong messages that you provided to us and we will continue to discuss these issues with other Commission services."

The ECPA employee obviously made a mistake on Mrs Benini's email address and sent it to "Francesca.Benini@[……]", but there is no mistake on the fact that the meeting took place.

You can find a copy of this email in the 2nd reply from DG Enterpriss dated 23 August in the zip file "ECPA.zip". Document name : ECPA - BASF Meeting 130625.PDF
http://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/docum...

I therefore make a confirmatory application for all correspondence (including emails), detailed minutes and any other reports related to this meeting. If such documents do not exist, I would like to ask you to confirm the date(s) of the meeting(s) and who attended it/them.

Thank you for your assistance.
Yours faithfully,

Stéphane Horel
