Members keeping mobile devices
Dear European Parliament,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
On 16 April, 2019 at a meeting of the Quaestors, PETRUCCI, Director-General, DG ITEC, said a Notice had been prepared to inform members that they "may keep mobile devices that they had been using for several years with important data stored on them, with a compensation, by calculating the residual market value of the equipment to be deducted from the Members’ allowances."
I am requesting access to:
1. the Notice drafted by DG ITEC
2. information on the compensation of the mobile devices to be deducted from the member's allowances
3. the number of possible or foreseen requests by members to keep their mobile devices
Yours faithfully,
Nikolaj Nielsen

Dear Mr Nielsen,
Your below application was registered by the European Parliament on 21 August 2019 under the reference number A(2019)10215.
In principle, the time limit to reply to it expires at the end of this day, 11 September 2019. However, internal consultations on your application are taking longer than expected, notably because you partly request access to potentially documented information and not only to specifically identified documents, and therefore, Parliament feels compelled to hereby extend the time limit to reply to your application, in line with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001.
Kind regards,
TU

Dear Mr Nielsen,
In reply to your application A(2019)10215 please find attached the Notice
on the returning of portable IT equipment together with a table with
information on the compensation and the number of MEPs who are to keep
portable IT devices.
The table includes information on the type of device kept by MEPs and the
amounts to be paid back to the European Parliament. Please note that the
name of the MEPs concerned, originally set out in the left hand column of
the table were blackened out of the table in application of Regulation
(EC) No 1049/2001 and Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 as personal data. You did
not ask for the disclosure of that data and it could only be disclosed if
the conditions set out in point b) of Article 9 of that latter regulation
are met.
In view of the foregoing, your request is considered as handled and the
application file A(2019)10215 is closed.
Best regards,
TU
