Dear Mr. Pieters,

Thank you for your email.

We would be most grateful if you could give more precision regarding what
documents you are requesting under your point A.  Indeed, we would be
grateful if you could narrow down the themes you mention under A. and
indicate whether your request concerns the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany
and the UK as in your point B.? (if not, please indicate which countries).
We will start the procedure once we receive clarification on this point.

Thank you,

Kind regards,

The Legal Service of Eurojust

Dear LS-Admin-External,

Concerning point A. the countries to which the themes would apply are also the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany or the UK. Narrowing down the themes however, or the kind of documents as intended in point A. will not be possible for me, as my research into these themes is of such a wide scope as well.

If you think that splitting up this request into two or three separate thematic FOIA request would make things more manageable, I would be willing to do so.
I would however think that doing so might give the department of Eurojust less work for each separate FOIA request, cumulatively it would still be the same (or more) amount of work.

If narrowing down the countries to which point A. applies would be a satisfactory narrowing down, I would prefer to leave the request like that.

I fully understand that this request is one of a certain magnitude. I would be however forever grateful if you would be willing to start the procedure.

I feel it would be both in the public interest, and in the interest of academic research into this area, to handle this request in a detailed and precise manner.

I also understand that it might take more time than normally reserved for FOIA requests. I would gladly be kept informed about the status of this request.

Thank you for your timely reply.

Yours sincerely,

Roelof Pieters
