Returned allowances
Dear European Parliament,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
Some MEP allowances involve a bloc hand out and the provision for MEPs to voluntarily return what they do not spend. Please provide the figures, for the last year for which statistics are available, for the voluntary return of unspent allowances, by allowance and as a share of the total relevant spend. If the figures are available, please also identify - by MEP, or by nationality or Group - those who do elect to return this public money.
My address is;
313, Norman Shaw North,
House of Commons,
Westminster SW1A 0AA
Yours faithfully,
Lee Rotherham
