Sec Gen: Tobacco industry lobbying on plastics

La solicitud fue exitosa.

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting a list of all lobby meetings held with the tobacco industry on the subject of the Single-Use Plastics proposal since 28 May 2018, to include the name of the official(s), the name(s) of the lobbyist(s) and organisation(s), the date, and the precise topic. I would additionally like to receive any emails, letters, agendas, minutes, and position papers which relate to either these meetings or other contacts between the tobacco industry and the Secretariat General on the Single-Use Plastics proposal.

May I take this opportunity to remind the Commission that the European Ombudsman has previously criticised as maladministration the Commission’s refusal to ensure that there is proactive transparency across the institution regarding its interactions with the tobacco lobby, including publishing details of all meetings with the tobacco industry, including the minutes.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Vicky Cann

Dear Ms Cann,

Thank you for contacting us. I am happy to explain that the documents have been scanned in -scan both sides modus- therefore you see blank page and it is in fact a blank page with no data. There is no content on the blank page that eventually could have been redacted. In the meantime you should have also received by postal mail the originals.

Thank you very much and I hope to have helped you with this,

With kind regards,
Secretariat General
