Public Access To Documents Mailbox,

1 Adjuntos

Dear Mr Ambri,

Reference is made to your correspondence dated 21 October 2022 concerning
two requests for public access to documents under Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001.

As a preliminary remark, kindly note that in the present case you have
addressed [1][email address]. This is a general functional mailbox
dealing with a very large number and variety of different external
communication. However, as it is made clear at the bottom of the ‘contact
us page’ of the Agency’s website as well as from the automatic reply from
the [2][email address] mailbox, addressing the afore-mentioned
[3][email address] mailbox is not a suitable means for submitting a
request for public access to documents under Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001.
Instead, the EUAA has a dedicated webpage and submission form for
submitting requests for public access to documents. The latter ensures
that any such requests are received directly by the competent staff
handling such requests and prevents any delays in the registration and
handling thereof. The above considerations explain the delay in
registering your present requests.

We hereby acknowledge receipt of your applications for access to documents
under Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, which were registered under reference
numbers 000695 and 000696 on 16 November 2022.

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to
European Parliament, Council and Commission documents and Decision No 6 of
the Management Board of EASO laying down practical arrangements regarding
public access to documents of EASO, your application should be handled
within 15 working days from the day of registration.

The (initial) time limits are due to expire on 7 December 2022. In case
this time limit needs to be extended, you will be informed in due course.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Mr. Ambri

Reference is made to your correspondence dated 21 October 2022 concerning
two requests for public access to documents under Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001 (registered under reference numbers 000695 and 000696 on 16

Please note that your applications are currently being handled by the EUAA
in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 and the Agency’s
Management Board Decision No 6. However, the Agency will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your applications within the initial
timeframe of 15 working days, which was due to expire on 7 December 2022.

An extended period is needed due to additional administrative efforts and
internal consultations being required by the EUAA, in order to be able to
duly process your requests in the most diligent manner (in accordance with
the principle of good administration).

In light of the above, the Agency has decided to extend the time limit by
an additional 15 working days in accordance with Article 7(3) of
Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001. The new time limits are due to expire on 6
January 2023. Nonetheless, the Agency strives to get back to you as
swiftly as possible.
