Thank you once again for taking the time to meet with us over the past months to discuss the
DMA and its importance for the book sector. For too long our sector has faced the consequences
of tech giants’ growing dominance and unfair practices. We therefore welcome the overall aim
of this long-awaited proposal.
Based on our discussions and having analysed the proposal in great detail together with our
colleagues in the publishing sector, we wish to share with you 
 and 
s joint amendments,
which we believe would provide the text with more ambition, clarity, legal certainty and future
proofness for the benefit of the European bookselling and publishing sector.
As we have already presented, our main requests concern: an extension of the scope, broader
interoperability requirements for the book sector and future proofness of the regulation.
