Dear Ms Roxburgh,
We refer to your e-mail of 29 July 2022 in which you make a request for access to
documents, registered on the same day under the above-mentioned reference number, and
to your e-mail of 4 August 2022 clarifying your request.
You request access to:
“All documentation (including but not limited to all email correspondence, attendance
lists, agendas, background papers, transcripts, recordings and minutes/notes) relating to
the meeting listed below:
1. Between Vice President Frans Timmermans and SSAB on the 31st March 2022
2. Between Sarah Nelen and Antoine Colombani, members of Frans Timmermans'
cabinet, on 10th March 2022
3. Between Commissioner Thierry Breton and SSAB on the 10th June 2021”.
With the following relevant clarification: “
I am specifically looking for bilateral meetings
between the Cabinet and the targeted stakeholders mentioned in the request”.
With an additional follow-up to this clarification, sent on the same day: “
Please could I

member of Thierry Breton, and SSAB on the 7th June 2021”.

Please note that due to the wide scope of your request, covering also areas falling under
the responsibility of other Directorates-General, parts of your request have been
attributed to other Directorates-General1. This reply relates only to the documents held by
the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG
GROW). You received / will receive the replies from the other Directorate-General in
due course.
We regret to inform you that DG GROW does not hold any documents that would
correspond to the description given in your application.
As specified in Article 2(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, the right of access as
defined in that regulation applies only to existing documents in the possession of the
institution.
Given that no such documents, corresponding to the description given in your
application, are held by DG GROW, DG GROW is not in a position to fulfil your
request.
In accordance with Article 7(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, you are entitled to
make a confirmatory application requesting the Commission to review this position.
Such a confirmatory application should be addressed within 15 working days upon
receipt of this letter to the Secretary-General of the Commission at the following address:
