Subject: Methane Proposal - New Briefing: The Transatlantic Petrochemical Trade is
Undermining EU’s Climate & Plastics Policies

Dear Stefano, Barbara,

I am writing to share a new briefing and analysis from the Center for International
Environmental Law and Rethink Plastic Alliance, The Transatlantic Petrochemical Trade
is Undermining Europe’s Climate & Plastics Policies. This briefing outlines and explains
the growing role of US fracked feedstocks in European plastics production, and the
relevance of this burgeoning supply chain to the forthcoming EU Methane Regulation, as
well as broader EU climate and plastics policy.

We hope this briefing can be useful as the Commission finalizes its proposal for the
Methane Regulation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me
at xxxxx@xxxx.xxx, or contact Rossella Recupero at xxxxxxxxx@xxxx.xxx.

Thank you,
