Dear Communications Networks, Content and Technology,

as you might know, the requirement for a postal address is a bogus one that does not serve any legitimate purpose and is used as a deterrence by the European Commission against freedom of information requests.

Please confirm that your request for a postal address was sent in error and is void.

In the interest of not letting you stall this request for information, I will provide you with a postal request without any acknowledgement of any requirement to do so. The postal address is

Dear Communications Networks, Content and Technology,

thank you for your email. In light of yiour response, I would indeed ask for a confirmatory application.

It is implausible that only one version of the prepared speech exists with no draft notes by the Commission staffer drafting and preparing the speech upon request.

It appears the Commission has unduly narrowed the scope of the request to direct correspondence between AGA and DG CNECT when in fact the request included "and the individuals organizing the EuropaAbend", which of course should include those individuals employed by the Commission in other DGs.

As the letter does not address "as well as followup requests to him or the Commission after the event" from the original request, it seems possible any followup requests disregarded.

Yours faithfully,

Mathias Schindler

Dear Communications Networks, Content and Technology,
Dear Mr Kröger,

thank you for your letter dated January 9 in which you seek to extend the deadline for handling my confirmatory application, invoking Article 8 (2) of the Regulation 1049/2001.

The Article reads: "2. In exceptional cases, for example in the event of an
application relating to a very long document or to a very large
number of documents, the time limit provided for in paragraph
1 may be extended by 15 working days, provided that the
applicant is notified in advance and that detailed reasons are
given."

Your letter does not explain why an internal consultation is an exceptional case. Merely claiming internal consultations also does not satisfy the requirements of the provisions in Article 8 (2) to provide detailed reasons. Such detailed reasons might include information on the amount and results of the ongoing consultations and the efforts made to conduct these within the standard deadline.

I kindly ask you to address these two issues in case you seek to invoke the deadline extension by 15 working days.

Yours faithfully,

Mathias Schindler

Dear Mr Schindler,

Many thanks for your below e-mail.

Following your confirmatory application, the Commission is carrying out a renewed, thorough search for further documents that could fall under the scope of your request. As several services are concerned, we are not yet in a position to reply to your confirmatory request.

We consequently confirm that we have to extend the prescribed time limit expiring on 10 January 2017 by another 15 working days in accordance with Article 8(2) of Regulation 1049/2001.

Many thanks in advance for your understanding.
