appointing the Commission representative(s) to the Management Board
of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA)
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Having regard to Council Regulation No 168/2007 of 15 February 2007 establishing a
European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights1, and in particular Article 12(1)(c) thereof.
Whereas:

Pursuant to Article 12(1)(c) of Council Regulation (EC) No 168/2007, the
Management Board of the Agency is to include two representatives of the
Commission.
(2)
Article 29(2)(c) of the said Regulation (Transitional arrangements) provided for 15
members of the Management Board, chosen by lot, to serve only for three years. Mr.
Emmanuel Crabit and Mr. José Alegre Seoane, respectively member and alternate
member of the Management Board of the Agency representing the Commission, were
chosen among the 15 members. Their term of office has ended on 12 July 2010.

It is therefore necessary to appoint a new representative of the Commission, and
alternate representative, as member and alternate member of the Management Board
of the Agency.
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
One of the two representatives of the Commission to the Management Board of the European
Union Agency for Fundamental Rights shall be the person occupying the following position
and exercising the following functions:
(a) Head of the Fundamental Rights Unit of the Commission's Directorate General for Justice.
The alternate Commission representative shall be the person occupying the following position
and exercising the following functions:

(b) Responsible officer for the Fundamental Rights Agency in the Fundamental Rights Unit of
the Commission's Directorate General for Justice.
Article 2
This Decision shall apply to the persons occupying, including on a temporary basis, the
positions referred to in Article 1 at the date of adoption of this Decision, or to any successor
of those persons in those positions.
Article 3
The Director-General of DG Justice shall inform the Chair of the Management Board and the
Director of the Agency of the names of the persons occupying the positions referred to in
Article 1.
