Msgr. Lebeaupin, born on 2 March 1945 in Paris, was ordained priest  on 28 June  1975 and served 
subsequently in Nice. He holds a doctorate in Public Law and degrees in Theology and Canon Law. In 
1998 he was appointed Titular Archbishop of Vico Equense (Italy). 
June 2012-today: Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union.  
2005-2012:  Nuncio  to Kenya; Permanent Observer to  United Nations Environment Programme  and 
UN-HABITAT (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), Nairobi. 
1998-2005: Nuncio to Ecuador. 
1996-1998: Chargé d'affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature to the European Community. 
1989-1998: Head of Holy See Delegation to the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe 
(CSCE – later OSCE). 
1989-1996: Holy See Secretariat of State (Section of Relations with States), Rome 
1985 – 1989: Apostolic Delegation to Mozambique 
1982-1985: Apostolic Nunciature to the Dominican Republic 
1979-1982: Holy See Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations, New York 
1979: entered Holy See’s Diplomatic service
