Subject: Request for a short meeting on Single-Use Plastics
Dear Ms Braun,
I am reaching out as a follow-up to a meeting we had earlier this
year with
Starbucks EMEA as I have a short
question regarding the interpretation of the scope of the new
European Commission proposal on Single-Use Plastics.
I tried to contact Mr Grzegorz Radziejewski, who was also at the
meeting, but as he is out of office for the next two weeks, his
cabinet recommended that I get in touch with you.
I was wandering whether you would be available to have a very
short meeting/coffee with myself and a colleague of mine to
briefly discuss this in the coming days. Anytime except tomorrow
would work. We are of course available to come at a venue of
your best convenience.
Thank you very much in advance,
Best regards,

meet with Ms Helena Braun on 19 February 2018.
We could suggest a meeting any time as of 15h00 onwards.
Please let us know what time would suit

In order to smoothly organise the access to Berlaymont building,
may I kindly ask you to complete the excel table in attachment

Also, would you be so kind to indicate the registration number of
the entity in the Transparency register?

Subject: Request for a meeting with
 EMEA, at
Starbucks Coffee Company
Dear Ms Braun,
I am contacting you on behalf of Starbucks Coffee Company to
request a meeting for
 EMEA.
will be in Brussels on 19th of
February and would very much appreciate if you have the time
for a short introductory meeting.
Starbucks has always been committed to being a responsible
player, in particular as far as coffee sourcing is concerned. The
cornerstone of this approach is Coffee and Farmer Equity
(C.A.F.É. practices), a comprehensive coffee-buying program

that ensures coffee quality while promoting social, economic and
environmental standards, which was developed in collaboration
with the NGO Conservation International more than a decade
ago.
Today the company is close to reaching its target of 100%
ethically sourced coffee, and is the founding partner of an
initiative facilitated by Conservation International, the
Sustainable Coffee Challenge -which together with more than
90 partners across the coffee sector including roasters, retailers,
traders, governments, donor agencies and NGOs- is committed
to make coffee the world’s first sustainable agricultural product.
Starbucks has also always been involved in helping farmers and
their families in coffee growing countries through a number of
Farmer Support Centers, Farmer Loans Programmes and
individual initiatives empowering women in the local
communities. Starbucks has also committed to donate a million
coffee trees to farmers most impacted by climate change, and is
partnering with the industry through the Sustainable Coffee
Challenge to expand this initiative and commit to 1 billion trees.
In the light of the above and in the context of the EU’s response
to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the crucial
role that the private sector plays in their implementation, Mr
Redfern would very much appreciate a short meeting with you
on 19th of February to present you the work of Starbucks and
explore ways of deepening the cooperation with the European
Commission on sustainable development.
Thank you very much in advance for considering our request.
Kind regards,
 on behalf of Starbucks
