Subject: Meeting with Insurance Europe - today
Dear Mary Veronica and Kurt,
I met today Insurance Europe, the European Insurance Federation accounting for around 95% of total
European premium income and managing more than 3 trillion Eur of assets.
Apart from the specific discussions on Solvency II forthcoming review, they showed a lot of interest for
the Green Deal Investment Plan and they want to contribute to it. They already play an important role
both as insurers and as investors in steering their counterparts towards sustainability.
They asked to be involved in COP26 under the Eu umbrella as it was apparently the case for banks last
time (I am not aware of that arrangement).
And they would also like to be involved in any kind of initiatives related to the Green Deal Investment
plan.
