Subject:
Your e-mail concerning your applications for access to documents
under Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 - GESTDEM 2020/3406

Dear Ms Kahya,
I  refer  to  your  e-mail  of  17  August  2020,  registered  on  the  next  day,  in  which  you
submitted a confirmatory application, in accordance with Article 7(4) of Regulation (EC)
No 1049/2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council and Commission
documents1 (hereafter ‘Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001’).
Your  confirmatory  application  was  submitted  in  relation  to  your  initial  application  of
4  June  2020,  addressed  to  the  Directorate-General  for  Trade,  whereby  you  requested
access to, I quote:
‘[documents  of]  a  joint  committee,  specialized  committees,  and  dialogues
meeting  documents  of  South  Korea  FTA  […].  Especially  the  documents  which
were about the negotiation process before 2011.’
As  you  did  not  receive  the  reply  from  the  above-mentioned  Directorate-General  within
the statutory time limits, you submitted, on 17 August 2020, a confirmatory application.
I note, however, that on 19 November 2020, the Directorate-General for Trade provided
you the reply to your initial application, referenced Ares(2020)6927383.

As  the  Directorate-General  for  Trade  has  in  the  meantime  sent  you  a  full  reply  to  your
application, the Secretariat-General will close this confirmatory application. Please note
that  this  is  without  prejudice  to  your  right  to  submit  a  new  confirmatory  application  if
you do not agree with the position of the Directorate-General for Trade, as reflected in its
reply of 19 November 2020.
Yours sincerely,

María Oliván Avilés
