Dear Mrs Margerit,
Firstly let me wish you a Happy New Year 2020.
I am contacting you as a follow‐up to our exchange of e‐mail below, to ask whether you and/or some of your cabinet
colleagues would be available for a meeting in the coming weeks.
As you know, cement is often considered as one of the potential priority sectors for carbon border mechanisms. We
have done a significant amount of thinking on this with our members and would be delighted to meet some of
Commissioner Gentiloni’s team to discuss the issue. This would be the occasion to introduce our industry, go
through the risks of carbon leakage in the sector, and exchange on carbon border mechanisms and next steps.
As things stand, we would be available on the following days:
15th January morning
16th January before 11.00
20th January afternoon
22nd January afternoon from 15.00 (preferred)
28th January anytime
29th January anytime
30th January anytime (preferred)
31st January afternoon anytime between 11.30‐15.00 (preferred)
3rd February anytime
4th February anytime
5th February anytime
6th February anytime
I thank you in advance for your consideration and I very much hope to meet you soon.
Best Regards,
