A study by Paul Romkens et al from Wageningen University on cadmium balances in EU soil
Dear European Environment Agency,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
A study by Paul Romkens et al from Wageningen University, Netherlands with contribution from Erik Smolders, from Leuven University, Belgium which calculates cadmium content of EU soils under the various limits proposed by the amendments to EU Fertilizer regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 and (EC) No 1107/2009. The study had the working title "A spatially explicit model to calculate cadmium balances in agro-ecosystems in the EU 27: model description and scenario analysis," although this exact title may have changed. The study was jointly funded by the EEA and Phosagro.
I also request any documents related to meetings or communications with Paul Romkens regarding the study.
I would prefer you to produce the documents on a rolling basis. At no point should the EEA's search for — or deliberations concerning — certain documents delay the production of others that the EEA has already in its possession and has elected to produce. To the extent possible, I would prefer to receive the documents in machine-readable electronic format.
Should my request be denied completely or partially, please explain the denial or all deletions referring to specific exemptions in the regulation. Also, I expect the partial release of documents, in case of partial exemption according to article 4.6. of the regulation. I reserve the right to appeal.
Please confirm having received this application. I look forward to your reply within 15 working days, according to the regulation.
Yours faithfully,
Natasha Gilbert
