Article 6, MEP code of conduct
Dear European Parliament,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
- the monitoring and enforcement mechanism(s) for article 6 of the MEP code of conduct which says that “Former Members of the European Parliament who engage in professional lobbying or representational activities directly linked to the European Union decision-making process may not, throughout the period in which they engage in those activities, benefit from the facilities granted to former Members under the rules laid down by the Bureau to that effect”.
- the number and name of former MEPs who have surrendered their lifelong access passes because of article 6 of the MEP code of conduct
- the number and name of former MEPs who have been found to be in breach of article 6 of the MEP code of conduct

Dear Ms Cann,
The Unit "Transparency - Access to documents" of the European Parliament
has transmitted to our Unit your request for information concerning the
Article 6 of the Code of Conduct for Members of the European Parliament
(Code of Conduct).
After consultation with relevant services we inform you that the Advisory
Committee on the Conduct of Members has had no complaints referred to it,
and thus has had no investigations or cases relating to [1]Code of Conduct
Art 6.
As for the general "monitoring and enforcement mechanism(s)" relating to
the Code of Conduct, it is enshrined in the Code's Art 8 and the
[2]implementing measures' Art 9.
