Dear Joint Research Centre,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information: the names of the authors of the recently published draft "Technical assessment of nuclear energy with respect to the ‘do no significant harm’ criteria of Regulation (EU) 2020/852 (‘Taxonomy Regulation’)." This appears to be the only scientific report on the Commission website to be published without the names of the advisors responsible for its contents.

Yours faithfully,

Dear ve_jrc.access documents (JRC),

According to Article 7.3 of Regulation 1049 on access to EU documents: In exceptional cases, for example in the event of an application relating to a very long document or to a very large number of documents, the time-limit provided for in paragraph 1 may be extended by 15 working days, provided that the applicant is notified in advance and that detailed reasons are given.

May we know in detail why this request demanded an extension of the time limit?

Yours sincerely,

Please note that your request under reference Gestdem 2021/2369 was
registered on 15/04/2021 with an initial deadline set for 06/05/2021,
which was extended to 01/06/2021.

Said extension was notified on 06/05/2021, before the expiration of the

Dear Ms Mauro,

Thank you for your message.

On 21/04/2021 we replied to your enquiry of 14/05/2021 about the
time-limit extension to respond to your request under reference Gestdem
2021/2369.

In our communication we referred to the fact that the initial deadline set
for 06/05/2021 was extended to 01/06/2021, as notified before its
expiration, and provided as a reason that the Commission was not in a
position to complete the handling within that timeframe as follows: “Your
initial request concerned documents which contain the names of the
authors of the recently published draft "Technical assessment of nuclear
energy with respect to the ‘do no significant harm’ criteria of
Regulation  (EU) 2020/852 (‘Taxonomy Regulation’)”. To this extent, we had
to consult several services, in view of a Directorate-General position on
your request. In the response the JRC has prepared we provide explanations
on the report under subject.”

On 24/05/2021 you sought a more detailed answer as to why your request
required said extension.

Your request also demanded an assessment of aspects relating to personal
data and falling under the Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2018/1725. This
required an integrated consultation amongst different JRC services.

Please rest assured that a reply to your initial request is being
processed and will be sent to you by 01/06/2021.
