I was just wondering if you could provide me with some information on as to why you need to apply for Novel foods authorisation in order to sell CBD that is derived through super critical co2 extraction?
Firstly this method allows for the highest purity of CBD, giving better results to those who are using CBD for the many conditions it can provide relief for, it is also a much more efficient and
a time saving method of extraction. Furthermore it is an example of green chemistry, meaning the extraction process has absolutely no negative effects on the environment.
It just seems strange that there is a barrier to selling purer, safer, more efficient and environmentally friendly produced CBD as opposed to CBD derived from the more outdated methods of extraction, so I would just like to know the reasoning behind this, and also if there is any movement on these regulations?
