Dear Climate Action,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001 as well as under the right of access to environmental information as covered by the Aarhus Directive on public access to environmental information (Directive 2003/4/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 January 2003 on public access to environmental information and repealing Council Directive 90/313/EEC), I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

- All communication, including e-mails and minutes from conversations, from the European Union to political decision-makers in the United States (including federal, state and local level), and vice versa, about the 2017 'North American Climate Summit - C40' and the 2018 'Global Climate Action Summit'.

- All documents and internal European Commission communication, including policy papers, e-mails and minutes from conversations and meetings, about the 2017 'North American Climate Summit - C40' and the 2018 'Global Climate Action Summit'.

- All documents since 1 June 2017, including e-mails, presentations, policy papers and minutes from conversations or meetings, with references to President Trump's speech of 1 June 2017 and the intended United States' withdrawal from the Paris Agreement.

- All documents since 1 June 2017, including e-mails, presentations, policy papers and minutes from conversations or meetings, with references to the US delegation at the 2017 COP23 in Bonn.

- All documents since 1 June 2017, including e-mails, presentations, policy papers, internal and external communication, and minutes from conversations or meetings, with references to the 16 September 2017 ministerial meeting on climate action co-chaired by Canada, China and the EU as well as to their ministerial meeting on climate action to be convened in Brussels in 2018.
