Dear Secretariat General (SG),
the time limit in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 for an answer expired thursday last week (21/02/2013). You didn't send me any documents or a notification that the time limit will be expanded. Therefore I strongly ask you for an answer about the state of my request.
Yours faithfully,
Martin Konecny
Dear Mr Konecny,
In your e-mail of 28 January 2013, you made a wide request for access to correspondence and minutes of meetings between Commission President Barroso and private sector companies or lobby groups related to the work “Towards a genuine economic and monetary union”.
You rightly point out that the 15 working-days time limit expired on 21 February. Due to an administrative oversight, we failed to send you an notification that the time limit needed to be expanded. We apologise for this. In the meantime, the archives of the Cabinet of President Barroso have been searched and a number of relevant documents have been identified. We expect to send you a reply within a week. As a precautionary measure, we inform you that the extended time limit will expire on 14 March 2013. After that date, you will be entitled to make a confirmatory application to the Secretary-General in case no satisfactory reply has been given to your request. However, we expect to reply well before the extended time limit expires.
Yours sincerely,
Carlos Remis
