Dear Education and Culture (EAC),

I am writing to request information regarding the following information on EU education materials. In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as specifically as possible.

(Note: I define EU education materials as literature aimed at school children produced by the European Commission, including but not limited to; books, colouring books, sticker books, booklets and pamphlets).

I would like to know details of:

(a) The total cost of designing, producing and transporting EU education materials dispatched to schools

i. within the United Kingdom;
ii. within the European Union;

each year for the last five years.

(b) The total cost of designing, producing and transporting the following EU education materials dispatched to schools within the United Kingdom since their publication:

ix. ‘United In Diversity’, by Gonzalo Lopez-Menchero and Andrea Milano (2014)
x. ‘Let’s explore Europe!’, by the European Commission and the Directorate-General for Communication (2014)
xi. ‘The Mystery of the Golden Stars’, by the European Commission and the European Commission Representation in the United Kingdom (2014)
xii. ‘Passport to the European Union – 2014’, by the European Commission and the European Commission Representation in the United Kingdom (2014)
xiii. ‘Passport to the European Union – 2013’, by the European Commission and the European Commission Representation in the United Kingdom (2013)
xiv. ‘Europe and You’, by the Council of the European Union and the General Secretariat of the Council (2013)
xv. ‘I colour Europe’, by the Council of the European Union (2013)
xvi. ‘Europe & agriculture’, by the European Commission and the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (2013).

Some parts of this request may be easier to answer than others, and in such case I would ask that you release available data as soon as possible rather than delay the entire request.

If FOI requests of a similar nature have been asked already, please could you include your responses to those requests. If the costs of processing this request exceed the limit in the Act, please advise on what information you are able to supply within the cost limit.

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request. I look forward to your response within 20 working days, as outlined by the statute.
