Dear Mr. Nielsen,

Reference is made to your correspondence dated 30 November 2021 (registered on 1 December 2021 under the reference number 03113).

Please note that your request is currently being handled by EASO in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 and EASO Management Board Decision No 6. However, the Agency will not be in a position to complete the handling of your application within the initial timeframe of 15 working days, which was due to expire on 22 December 2021.

An extended time limit is needed for a number of reasons:

* the end of the year period, which is a particularly busy time for an EU Agency such as EASO;
* the upcoming Regulation on the European Union Agency for Asylum;
* the temporal element and nature of your request, requiring additional administrative efforts.

In light of the above, the Agency has decided to extend the time limit by an additional 15 working days in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001. The new time limit is due to expire on 21 January 2022. Nonetheless, EASO strives to get back to you as swiftly as possible.

Yours sincerely,

European Asylum Support Office
